On an Evening in Roma – Italy
When you begin traveling without much of a plan, it allows for a great deal of flexibility. This is something I really learned from after living such a scheduled, organized life. Being adaptable is a skill we all need to practice! When I chose Italy, my biggest goal was finding the beauty in simplicity and slowing down. Turns out, this is completely tied to being flexible and going with the flow! My original plan was to head to Lucca in Tuscany, but after the rental car battle, I changed plans last minute and decided to head to Verona instead. After hearing how much my dad loved living in Verona, I knew it needed to be a stop on my ... Read More
Welcome to Rome!
Arriving in Rome With a very loud thud and a whoosh of air, we touched down on the runway. Definitely not the smoothest, but at least we were on the ground again. This was it! I had made it to Rome! After battling to get my carry-on luggage a few rows up, I headed down the steps of the plane. I had waited so long for this moment. As I stepped down and took my first steps into Italy, an Italian man who also had just gotten off the flight grabbed me and planted a large, forceful kiss right on my unsuspecting lips. Alora (well). Exploring Ostia Antica
Whether you are a history junkie or just have a thing for ruins and disaster, this site is for you. Just outside of Fiumicino, Ostia Antica is a masterpiece of tales once told. It is the harbour city of Ancient Rome, and used to sit at the mouth of the river Tiber. Now, it is over 2 miles away from the sea. The frescoes and mosaics throughout the site are amazing and most have been well preserved. You may be asking... why are a bunch of old rocks and broken down buildings so impressive? They just get me. There is something magnificent about archeological ruins. Yes, for the obvious reason that people once lived here and history is ... Read More

Laser hair removal…does it work?
Laser hair removal can change your life. Trust me on this one. In this post I want to share the how and why I decided to do it, and let you know what I think about all of it. Since these things are personal, I hope you will be able to get enough information here to make an informed decision and figure out if it is right for you as well - or if you want to keep that soft, furry goodness. My journey started around the same time as most women - puberty hit and we realized that it wasn't all that cute to have fuzzy legs. Yes, I think at that age most of the hair on my legs were blonde, but it still glistened in the sun like a fine set of ... Read More
